Weekly Weigh In

A gain of 1.3 pounds.  I knew it was going to happen.  During the middle of the week I wasn't there mentally with my weight loss.  I was feeling sorry for myself and let myself indulge a bit.  I weighed myself on Friday morning and was sort of shocked by the gain but thankfully I managed to get it down with lots of water, watching what I ate & walking 11 miles this weekend.  This sure isn't helping me with my monthly goal of losing 8 pounds but I will try to do my best to get there.

My workouts for week 8 are:
  • Monday - rest day
  • Tuesday - 40 minutes walking
  • Wednesday - 25 minutes walking
  • Thursday - 40 minutes walking
  • Friday - rest day
  • Saturday - 50 minutes walking
  • Sunday - 8 miles
As I've done for the past 7+ weeks, I will continue to do at least 5k on non mile days.  I just had a mini freak out seeing 8 miles.  The 7 mile workout yesterday was hard.  I'm still sore and definitely need a rest day.   But damn I am in week 8.  I remember a while back I didn't think I could walk 5 miles and now I've done 5, 6 & 7 mile workouts.

  1. the other day I had someone ask me how my last WI went and I said I was up. They seemed shocked...but for me to be successful at being healthy I need to realize that I can't be perfect 100% of the time. especially when I have been doing this for just over 4 years now. This will be my life & life is full of ups & downs. If I had not been on WW I know my small gain would have been a lot worse than it was. Back on plan...and I see you are too! :) WTG!

    1. I never thought of it that way. It's so true. Life isn't perfect but all I can do is try my hardest and keep going.

  2. 8 miles is a lot! I find that I need to follow up anything longer than 6 miles (walking or running) with a complete rest day to give my legs a break!

It's tough to see a gain, but getting back on track and feeling good again is always so good. Reminds you why we do this!

    1. I needed two days. But I am glad that I decided on that extra day because yesterday at the gym my legs felt so much better.

  3. Now you've done 7 miles, you can definitely do 8 miles. You're progress is incredible and definitely something to be proud of.

If you need a training partner for Sunday's 8 mile walk or any walk for that matter then give me a shout and i'll do one too over in the UK.

    1. I will be taking you up on that. I am sort of terrified to do 8 because just how exhausted my body was afterwards so I thinking of doing 7 miles again and trying to improve my time. You up for that?
