OMG moment

Ten days ago, I posted that one of my goals for December was to finish a 5K in under 50 minutes.  I think I was riding on an exercise high because I had just walked my fastest 5K that day with a time of 51:20.  I was only able to work out one more day after that and then I got sick.   Today I went back to the gym after not working out all week and this happened:


I did this today.  Me.  I still can't believe.  I actually walked 3.1 miles in under 50 minutes.  Say whaaat?!?!  I think my day at the gym today is one that I won't soon forget.  

I also went to the East Bay and hit up Lush.  I am obsessed with taking baths now so I wanted to take advantage of their sales.  I got all this for $65 since all their holiday items were buy one get one free.   One of the stars is a gift filled with 6 holiday bath bombs.  In all, I ended up getting 10 bath bombs/bubble bars and two soaps (the Godmother & Snow Globe).



To say that I am beyond excited about my weight loss & 5K time today is not enough.  This is proof that I can do those things which I thought I couldn't do.  I can do it.  I just have to keep trying and if I fail, try again.

  1. Yes, a definite OMG moment! That's superb. You better believe it because you'll continue to break your own records.

    Thanks for the comments on my blog. My family don't have any traditions for New Years. Personally I don't even celebrate it, I'm usually in bed watching TV.

    Also re: how far I walk. If you told me that I would be walking this much when I first started my steps challenge, I'd have laughed in your face but now I find that it's quite easy to walk 50 miles a week and I feel like I could do so much more some days. I guess with anything, the more you do something, the easier it gets.

    Love the bath products. Love the Lush stuff too but it's more expensive than the Beyond the Bomb stuff I've been getting. I wish BtB had the bath melts though. Those are divine!!

    And that LUSH haul looks pretty good too. I didn't make it out to stores yesterday, though lots of good deals going on now so I am going to try to go soon.

  4. @Tim - I probably won't do anything this coming weekend except participate in RaceEpic & starting out the new year in a healthy way.

    @Kim - thanks! I only got so much due to their sale. It is pretty pricey but it's nice to indulge every once in a while. I will check BtB though.
