Last night I had Christmas dinner with my mom and sister and we also had a gift exchange. It's a bit early to be exchanging gifts but both my mom and sister are going to Mexico City for the holidays next week. Dinner was delicious. We went to a restaurant in Corte Madera called Brick & Bottle and the menu is described as classic comfort food with a fresh and modern touch.
I had the roasted beet & green lentil salad to start with. For my entre, I ordered two side dishes - smoked gouda orzo "mac & cheese" and the bacon brussels sprouts. I ended up ordering the rum cake and shared it with my sister. Everything was so good and best of all was that I did not go over my points for the day. We also exchanged gifts at the restaurant and I got some great goodies.
I finally got a Fitbit. If you want to friend me on Fitbit, here's my profile. I've been wanting one for a long time and I made it a reward for myself if I could track my food consistently for 60 days. That wasn't happening so when my mom asked me what I wanted, I knew exactly what I wanted to get. She also gave me two workout DVD's and my sister gave me a gift card. I was really happy with my gifts.
Today's workout scheduled said that I needed to do a 40 minute walk and tomorrow a 6 mile walk. Tomorrow morning I have brunch with some friends so I switched the schedule around. I drove to Blackie's Pasture this morning and started walking.
Last week, I was going to walk my farthest distance which was 5 miles and for some reason that morning I was freaking out. That was not the case today. I mentally prepared myself and set a time goal (1:45 since I walked 5 miles in 1:28 last week) and hoped for the best. I was struggling a bit after the first mile. I just felt like I was going slow. I knew I wasn't going to beat yesterday's 5K time because this walk was more about endurance for me. After a while though, I just stopped worrying about it and kept going. Last week when I hit the 5 mile mark, I was exhausted and my body instantly slowed down. This time when I hit the 5 mile mark, I knew I still had one more mile and it was like my body knew it too. I looked at my Runkeeper app and saw that I could potentially make my time goal. The last 1/4 mile my feet felt so heavy but I made it and reached my goal (even my Fitbit was happy).
Now it's time to take a bubble bath and relax. Whew!

Good job on sucha great walk! Does your Runkeeper app lose GPS signal a lot? I've only gotten Runkeeper to work on my phone once!
