That's how I felt after watching the new Sex and the City movie. I am such a fan of the show and the first movie that when it was announced that they were going to do a second movie, I really didn't want to see it come to fruition. I thought that the first movie took care of any loose ends and it was actually a good movie. But after seeing it, my initial reaction was that it was a bit ridiculous, too long and it confirmed that a second movie was not needed.
I won't give away what happens in the movie but at times it felt like a advertisement for Abu Dabhi and the plot to me didn't seem to go together very well. I think the funniest part was Liza Minelli singing Beyonce's Single Ladies. And yes, the outfits were pretty fabulous and there were a few laugh out loud moments.
I would recommend that if you want to see it, you wait for it to come out on DVD. It was entertaining but in my opinion, it was not a good movie. I just expect more from the SATC franchise. I really hope that the rumors for a third movie are false.
Here is a clip of the Liza's performance. This occurs within the first 10 minutes of the movie.

I completely agree with you. There were a few good moments but overall, I felt the producers made a parody of the main characters. Loved the clothes and scenery, but I still expected more out the plot.
ReplyDeleteThat's why I really hope that they don't do a third one. I mean, it can only get worse from here since there isn't much of a story left to tell.
ReplyDeleteCarrie's closet was pretty fabulous!
