My 2009 Resolutions

✔ Be more patient with those around me
✔ Be more active in keeping in touch with family and friends
✔ Read a book a month
✔ Not buying any more make-up unless they are essentials i.e. foundation, moisturizer, etc.
✔ Drink more water and less diet soda
✔ Prepare a budget and actually follow through with it
✔ Try to be more open to new people and places
✔ Once I get my new place, invite more people over than when I did when I lived in the Valley
✔ Take better care of me
✔ Not spending so much on frivolous items

I will update monthly on my progress on these resolutions. I figure since I am starting brand new that I can make these items into habits and not something that I have to do.

  1. I've been doing the no MU shopping for months now! It works and I can use my $ for other things I could use, like more gadgets! haha

  2. I'm with you on the no more makeup thing. I pretty much have all I need. Actually I've been to Sephora 3 times in the past few weeks, and the only thing I left with is a free perfume sample. :) Discipline, right?

I've just ordered an empty palette and pressing medium to press some blushes, and I think that'll satisfy my hunger to play with makeup in the mean time.

  3. Leony - you are stronger than I am. But I hope to draw strength from ya.

Arianne - good idea on pressing blushes. I really do need to control my "beauty" spending. It's getting out of control.

  4. Those sound like great resolutions! I hear you on the need to control beauty spending. I unintentionally got into the habit of using expensive makeup and hair products and it became much too costly. I've alternating the more expensive products with similar, less expensive versions and waiting until things go on sale, and it's starting to help.

    Happy 2009!

Lilan - it will be hard especially when I read about all the new goodies coming out on your blog. :D
