Karen from Makeup & Beauty Blog wanted to share more about herself with her readers and asked us to do the same. Here are my answers to her questionnaire:
1. Tell me about yourself and why you love makeup.
My name is Marisol and I was born in Mexico City 29 years ago. When I was 10, my family and I moved to California and I have been living here ever since.
My addiction to make-up started when I was in high school. I use to wear that dark red/black lipstick from Wet & Wild. Now, I am a pretty white looking Mexican chick so you can imagine how bad this looked on me. But I didn't care. I remember my mom telling me that I looked ridiculous but trying to be a rebel I wore it even more. Now that I see pictures of that time, I cringe. My first try at department make-up was Clinique. I just wore foundation, concealer, mascara and maybe some lipgloss. In my early 20's, I went with my friend to the MAC counter and I have been hooked ever since.
2. What do you do for a living?
I have been in the banking industry since 1996. I have worked in all different aspects of banking and now I am an auditor for a financial institution in San Francisco.
To be honest, it's a job that pays the bills. I never pictured myself in such a boring environment and hope to be able to find something more challenging and fun soon.
3. Tell me about your family.
I am one of 100 people in my family and that is just on my mom's side. How do I come up with the 100? Starting with my mom's parents, her 13 brothers & sisters, their spouses, their kids and their kids' spouses, nieces and nephews.... whew! I am the oldest of two and my sister is 3.5 years younger than me.
4. What are a couple things you like to do in your spare time?
I like to watch TV, read chick fiction, go wine tasting, listen to music, go on road trips, explore the internetz, hang out with friends and discovering new restaurants.
5. Is there anything else you’d like to share?
I am pretty shy when people first meet me but once you get to know me, I can be pretty funny and outgoing.
I have an irrational fear of cats.
I am addicted to my iPhone.
I dislike the hot weather. My ideal temperature is low to mid 70s.
And I like dirty martinis.

ReplyDeleteJacqueline - yeah my mom is on of 14 kids. So if you count their kids and then some of their kids have their own kids it can get pretty crazy.
